Place a $300 non-refundable deposit to lock in your whole hog.
The hogs should be ready in weight and size by November & December. So expect approx. 1-2 weeks from the time they are taken to the processor.
Buying Local, Farm-Fresh Meat is the Only Way to Go!
Our pigs are pastured-raised locally on our farm, in an environment that is humane and respectful to the animals. They are free to roam outside to play in the dirt and mud. They are healthy, happy, and friendly pigs. They are fed with organic feed and clean water daily. The pigs are FREE from hormones, antibiotics, and vaccines. They will give you the best-tasting meat they know how!
A Whole hog should yield approximately 120 to 160 pounds of meat, *depending on the hanging weight and how you have it processed.
**For Reference: A Whole Hog can weigh approximately 200 +/- pounds.
The total price of the Whole Hog is calculated @ $5.50 per pound on the hanging carcass weight, plus the processing fee.
The Process...
1. I will send an email out when your animal is taken in along with the information needed to start the process on your hog. You will then either call in your cut sheet order or use Jones' online form.
2. I suggest calling so they can answer any questions you may have. It should take approximately 2-3 weeks for processing. Some cuts need time for "smoking" if that is the option that you chose for your cuts.
3. We will pick up the order when the processing is completed. We deliver the product to your door at no charge. The final payment is due at delivery.
Our Processor...
We use Jones Farm Meats, LLC in Saranac, MI. They are a USDA-certified processor. They vacuum & seal, and label with the weight and product name.
